On Wednesday the 16th of April, Sr. Kathleen dressed in the traditional habit of the Loreto Sisters and visited Ms. Hogan and Ms. O' Hanlon's 5th Class. The girls were astounded to see their visitor and listen to the stories of life in the Abbey, as it was in it's hay day. We must not forget that the children of this generation will not remember a time when this type of garment was regularly worn by nuns and the girls were very taken with it.

 

Sr. Kathleen is an orator and captured the girls' imaginations from the minute she started imparting her vast knowledge of Loreto Abbey. The children were transported back to a time of open fields, giggling in the hallways, daily Mass, May processions and a loving community spirit. Thank you Sr. Kathleen for being so kind and enthusiastic during your visit to see us. A visit the girls will never forget.
